'Far From the Best': Amorim Delivers Honest Verdict on Dorgu and Dalot Before Palace Clash
A selection change surfaced at Manchester United after Patrick Dorgu moved to the bench at Selhurst Park, with Diogo Dalot taking his place. Amorim made the adjustment after noting that Dorgu “clearly hasn’t improved enough” over the previous six days.

Scrutiny over the duo’s attacking output intensified following the defeat to Everton. Dorgu started at left wingback and delivered no successful crosses, also missing what was described as “a clear sight of goal.”
Dalot entered from the bench shortly before the hour mark as Amorim searched for solutions against Everton’s compact defensive setup. The substitute produced no shots, created one “snatched chance,” and did not connect with a teammate from his delivery into the box.
Amorim addressed their performances ahead of the meeting with Crystal Palace. The manager stated, “I think they [Dorgu and Dalot] are far from the best and they know it. Like a lot of players in our team, like myself, so I just look at them and I think they have so much more to give.” He added that “they are doing so much better than in games” based on their training levels.
The United boss also reaffirmed his stance regarding transfer needs. He explained that the club may require an additional attack-minded wingback and said, “We have time to think about that. I don’t know what is going to happen in January” when asked about possible signings.
