'Your Mistake Is My Mistake': Manchester United Star Amad Diallo Explains Biggest Change Under Michael Carrick
Since Michael Carrick arrived at Manchester United in January, the atmosphere around the squad has shifted significantly, according to Amad Diallo. The winger believes the interim manager has helped build a stronger collective mentality that has pushed the club back into contention near the top of the table.

Carrick has enjoyed an encouraging spell since taking charge on January 13. United have won 10 of their 14 games under the former midfielder, while drawing twice and losing twice. Amad has been heavily involved throughout the campaign, making 30 appearances in all competitions and contributing two goals along with three assists.
The 23-year-old spoke positively about Carrick’s relationship with the players, insisting the manager’s approach has had a clear impact on the squad dynamic.
“I enjoy a lot playing with him [Carrick]. Honestly, he’s a good guy, talking with everyone, having good relationships with every player. That is something that helps a lot,” he told Sky Sports.
For Amad, the strongest difference has been the way the squad reacts during difficult moments. He explained that blame between teammates has disappeared, replaced by a united approach focused entirely on moving forward together.
“I think the biggest change maybe is because the team is now more impactful. In the dressing room, we are really together, every mistake is not a problem, your mistake is my mistake, so we are a team that doesn’t care if you make a mistake, you go again, so we go forward, we want to win as a team,” the winger said.
The Ivory Coast international also praised Carrick’s assistants and support staff for helping improve morale within the team. After playing 2,173 minutes this season, Amad acknowledged the influence of interim assistant Travis Binnion and the rest of the coaching group.
“That’s something that changed the team, and I think it’s also because of Michael Carrick and his staff, don’t forget also Trav [interim assistant Travis Binnion], and the other staff. They are really important for the team, and they bring that kind of energy to the team, and that is very important,” he explained.
With Champions League football for next season already confirmed, attention may soon shift toward who will lead United moving forward. Amad admitted the players would gladly continue under Carrick’s management next season.
“Everyone is happy to have him as manager. Everyone is with him... we will be happy if we have him next season as manager.”
